1 Year Old Pictures

We took Jaycee in on Monday to get her pictures taken for her birthday, and I just got them back so I can show them to you! :) We went to Target, and they turned out really good despite the fact that she didn't want to cooperate with the photographer that day. There are none of her smiling, but at least she looks pleasant in most of them. All in all, I like Target much better than Walmart according to some of the experiences we've had there.

Happy Mother's Day

To all our mother's, grandmother's, aunts, sisters, friends, cousins, etc. etc...Happy Mother's Day! Thank you for all you do for your children and ours! You are such wonderful ladies, and I'm so glad to have you in my life! :) Hope you enjoyed your day!

We had a great Mother's day today! Jaycee woke me up at 6:20 am and I didn't make Ryan get up with her, because he was sick, and needed to sleep. So we played for a little while, then she finally fell back to sleep, to have her morning nap. Ryan didn't think he was going to be able to go to church because of how he was feeling, so I let Jaycee stay home with him so they both could sleep, and was going to go to church by myself. But I decided to go to my mom's ward, where I could be with her, Misti, and Mary instead! And it was a good choice! A wonderful song was sung, and I really enjoyed it.

After church, we went to Mom's to visit with her for a little while, before we went over to Ronnie's to have a light luncheon for mom. Benji's family, the 3 of us, Jack's family, Ronnie and kids, Mary and Mom were all there. The kids enjoyed being together as they always do. And we found out that there is a duck's nest under their back porch. I had never seen one before and was surprised as to how big it was. Ronnie and Stacy both counted at least 10 eggs. So Ronnie's gonna have to let us know when they hatch so that we can go see the cute little ducklings!

We had to leave them around 4 pm because Ryan was going to be making Mel's birthday dinner at his mom's house, since it was Mother's Day and the mom's don't usually cook on that day. He did a wonderful job making Creme Brulee French Toast, that you make the night before, and let it sit in the fridge all night and then bake it the next morning. It's REALLY good, and he did good making it. I think everyone enjoyed it. We played a game after dinner, and then went home to watch a movie!

Such a great day! I LOVE being around family, so it was the perfect day for me! Thanks Ryan for all you do to help me out!

Mel's 20th Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Mel! She turned 20 today, and we had a picnic at Barnes Park to celebrate. The boys played some Frisbee, the little girls saw the ducks, and we walked around a lot, here are some fun pictures...
Feeding and watching the ducks. Once Jaycee saw them, she wouldn't stop making her quacking sound! It was pretty cute! :)Mel blowing out her candle. She had to block the wind, 'cause it kept blowing the candle out before we were ready!Jaycee hates holding hands, as you can see, she is a VERY independent little munchkin!......and Brooklyn loves it, she's been taught that it's too dangerous if she goes alone!

12 Month Well Check

Jaycee went to the Doctor today for her well check appointment. Any guess on percentages? :) She is a very little girl, but she's even smaller right now because she was sick for almost a whole month in March and April. We had gone to the doctor when she had pink eye in both eyes, and two ear infections, and she weighed in at 19 pounds. About 2-3 weeks later, she was sick with a fever, cough, congestion, etc. so we went back into the doctor where he told us she didn't have pneumonia YET! Scary! She weighed in that day at 18.2 pounds. Today when we went in this is how she measured out...
  • Weight 18.8 lbs (14%) (My goal is to have her in her front facing car seat by the time we go to St. George the beginning of June. For those of you who don't know, that's 20 lbs, and 1 year old!)
  • Height 28" (17%)
  • Head Circumference 17.5 (31%)
  • She got her 3rd tooth the day before she turned one
  • She walks and runs, like a pro, as long as she doesn't have an ear infection to make her dizzy all the time!
  • She's making animal sounds
  • She'll grab a book and either have you read it to her, or she'll just sit on the ground (in the middle of whatever floor, even the kitchen) and read it herself.
  • She's eating everything and anything she can (she definitely NOT a picky eater, and we are sooooo grateful for that!)
  • She can now have milk, instead of formula, and made the transition really well.
  • She drinks out of sippy cups, and likes them just the same as bottles.
  • She feeds herself finger foods, and loves that she can eat them!
  • She loves to go outside, on walks, to grandma's houses, shopping, etc.
  • She can now throw a temper tantrum REALLY well, even though it doesn't help her! :)
  • She can turn her tears off pretty well after getting shots, when the nurse gives her a sucker for being so good! :)

She is such a good girl, and we are so blessed to have her in our lives! We love you so much Jaycee! Thank you for all the joy you bring into our home! Happy 1st birthday, Princess!

I also want to send a shout out to Zach! Happy 25th Birthday to you! Thank you for staying a great friend to the 3 of us throughout the years! You're Awesome! :) And to any single girls reading this...he's available!!! ;)

I Cannot Believe We Have a One Year Old! :)

Jaycee turned one today! It's so weird to me, this last year has gone by so fast. But it has been a wonderful year, and we have had lots of great memories with our wonderful, little Jayce! She is so cute, so smart, growing fast, and it's just too fun, to watch! :)

Diana decided to take each girl out for ice cream when they turned one, so she took Jaycee yesterday (the 5th) to Arctic Circle, and said she didn't really want to eat the ice cream as much as she wanted to play with it! Here are some pictures...

Grandma Bradford and Ryan's Aunt Lisa came up from Spanish Fork to take her to lunch. So we went over to Diana's and visited, opened a few presents, and went to Doug & Emmy's for lunch. It was lots of fun. Thank you for coming up you two!

Later that evening, we had family and friends over for a 1st birthday princess party. It turned out really good, and Jaycee was loving having everyone over. Some people couldn't make it, and we missed having them there with us, but we still had fun and are grateful to those who took the time to come be with her on her birthday! Thanks everybody! The following pictures are from that night...(To those of you who are professional cake decorators, please do not laugh at the following images!) This is my attempt to make a cake...we have a lady in our ward who helped me make a cake for Jaycee, as her own cake to eat, but I also wanted to make another one for everyone else to have, and this is it...a volcano cake, that had already exploded! :) As Misti was helping me make this cake, we had put it all together and were about ready to frost it, when the 2nd to the bottom layer decided to split in half and make the whole thing fall. We caught it in time to save most of it, but in the process of taking the broken layer off, we ruined another layer at the same time. :( It was a very sad moment, but I think the finished product still turned out okay all things considering. Thanks to Sister Steel for helping me with this one, it was wonderful!

This is our finished product, a little lopsided, and not very professional, but then again, I'm not a professional, so oh well! :)This is what it looked like on the inside.

Jaycee opening some of her presents with daddy's help...

Eating her first cake....such a mess...YUMMY!!!

Sierra and Kayani...Kayani is making her own mess, eating the leftovers of the boys' cakes since they didn't finish and she is a piggy!

So many people love our little Jaycee Jean, and it makes me so happy! Thank you for all who support us in all that we do! We love you all!
